Paulding County Opportunity Center

Welcome to the Paulding County Opportunity Center (PCOC)
The Paulding County Opportunity Center (PCOC) serves K–12 students from Antwerp Local Schools, Paulding Exempted Village Schools, and Wayne Trace Local Schools. We offer a supportive alternative learning environment for both special education and general education students who benefit from a personalized approach to meeting educational goals and graduation requirements.
A Personalized Approach to Learning
At PCOC, smaller class sizes, licensed teachers, and dedicated paraprofessionals ensure that every student receives individualized instruction. Our flexible teaching methods allow students to learn at their own pace, with lessons broken into manageable steps and reinforced through frequent feedback.
We collaborate closely with partner districts to tailor each student’s experience while maintaining a strong connection to their home schools. Students enrolled at PCOC remain eligible to participate in athletics and extracurricular activities in their district.
Supporting the Whole Student
Our program is designed to help students succeed not only academically but also socially and emotionally. We focus on:
-
Improved attendance
-
Positive behavior
-
Academic growth
-
Social-emotional development
In addition to academic support, students gain critical life skills such as communication, responsibility, decision-making, perseverance, and teamwork—skills that help them thrive in school, careers, and life.
A Safe and Encouraging Environment
At PCOC, our mission is to provide a safe, welcoming, and academically supportive environment where every student feels accepted and empowered. We aim to inspire life-long learners by fostering a culture of equity, understanding, and personal growth.
